Elements of Theatre

Mondays 10:00 - 11:00 AM
(10 week session: Feb 5. 12. 26. March 5. 12. 19. 26 April 9. 16. 23)

This intro class is for anyone interested in delving into the various elements of theatre.
Participants will explore a variety of exercises related to movement, voice, acting, playwriting, costumes, masks and puppets. In this fun and interactive class participants will investigate how these elements are interconnected and the value each element adds to the process of making theatre.

Exploring Acting

Tuesdays 10:00 - 11:00 AM
(10 week session Feb 6. 13. 27 March 6. 13. 20. 27 April 10. 17. 24)

This class is aimed at those who want to fully immerse themselves in the actor’s
process. Participants will spend ten weeks exploring scene study, monologues and
auditioning. This class will introduce participants to some of the fundamental skills
required to develop an acting process. Participants will practice self awareness,
imagination, concentration, honesty and commitment.


This class requires some verbal skills. It is recommended that participants have taken at least one other IOT class before they join Exploring Acting. Please contact Jacqueline to assess if this class is a good fit for you.

 

Experiments in Theatre

Tuesdays 1:00 - 2:00 PM (10 week session Feb 6. 13. 27 March 6. 13. 20. 27 April 10. 17. 24)


This class is designed for performers and creators who want to expand their theatrical tool box. Participants will experiment with diverse forms of theatrical expression and creation including improv, mask, solo performance and documentary theatre as well as design, stage management and directing. This class will also include group excursions to view theatre performances in Calgary throughout the year.

This class requires some verbal skills. It is recommended that participants have taken at least one other IOT class before they join Experiments. Please contact Jacqueline to
assess if this class is a good fit for you.

Investment

Each ten week session is $50/participant. Payment can be made online or
by cheque. To register email jacqueline@insideouttheatre.com or call (403) 282-4801.
Scholarships are available. Please contact us if you require a scholarship for the class
fee.
