Call for Costume Designers: Most Imaginary Costumes Project

Most Imaginary Costumes, Community Engagement Project

Project Dates: October 1st-31st

Fee: $1,500

Design Budget: $500

Super short version:

Most Imaginary Costumes pairs costume designers with kids with disabilities to create the halloween costumes of their dreams!

Fuller version:

Inside Out Theatre and Quest School are partnering for Most Imaginary Costumes, where professional designers will collaborate with kids with disabilities to make their wildest costume ideas come to life!

Most Imaginary Costumes is a community event connected to Most Imaginary Worlds, a new TYA play by Inside Out and Quest Theatre (no relation to Quest School).

One elementary, one Jr High, and one High School student will be chosen via random draw and paired with a designer. The designers and Inside Out staff will visit the school in early October to dream and scheme up the halloween costume of their dreams!

The designers will then build the costumes, with support from Inside Out staff.

On Halloween, Wednesday October 31st, the designers and Inside Out staff will return to the school with the costumes, with a school wide party, photo shoot, and costume parade to follow!

Submission guidelines:

To submit please e-mail Artistic & Executive Director Col Cseke at col@insideouttheatre.com with a note about why you’re interested in this project and samples of your work (which could be a portfolio, example photos of past work, website link, etc).

We’ll respond to all submissions and invite selected designers to an interview (online or in person, whichever you prefer). We’re looking for three costume designers in total.

Deadline to submit is September 29th, 2023

Board of directors ~ Secretary & Directors at large

Our Board of Directors give generously of their time and talents to provide governance and strategic leadership. They meet approximately 6 times per year in addition to sitting on at least one Board committee. Board terms are 1 year (renewable without limitation).

Board members oversee the company’s operations to ensure our mandate is being fulfilled, that we are fiscally responsible, and that we are seeking reasonable opportunities for growth. They also provide counsel on a variety of matters, such as artistic programming, management, communications, and fund development. They are an invaluable part of our team.

Ideally, you have expertise in fundraising, accounting and financial management, legal, marketing/communications, and or graphic/web design. We are looking for individuals of all abilities who may already have some Board experience and are comfortable with taking an Executive role if needed.

If interested, please contact Col Cseke, Artistic & Executive Director at col@insideouttheatre.com with a one page letter of interest outlining your experience and the reasons why you would like to serve on the Inside Out Theatre Board of Directors.

Inside Out is committed to fostering a board that reflects our community’s diversity of ability, gender, age, income, and ethnicity.
